The little book on Living

Do not think about yourself,
but be aware of
the thought, emotion, or action
that makes you think of yourself

Great Words.

Sreesha
Hey Sreesha, nice to see you here. Keep commenting.

To me these words bring so much of lightness. The moment the thinking is switched off and awareness lit up, the heaviness disappers. The heaviness of darkness is made light. Afterall, darkness is nothing but absence of light (from beloved Osho). Awareness is a no-mind state (not even an action). No effort is needed. Just be. Thought on the other hand, needs a lot of mental effort.
Lazing around has it's own virtues. I've read of zen monks who's real purpose was to be as useless as possible to others. If somebody finds them useful - like a king who wants them to be a spiritual guru, then their whole purpose of monkhood is lost with the freedom that they loose with such an alliance.

However, the message that underlies all this is: be aware of your actions, thoughts and feelings. That in itself is a meditation.

Sandman, rain however, makes me aware of catching a cold... and in the end I do get one. I enjoy watching and keeping myself dry in wet weather. My kinda enjoyment!!
