Dealing with the young

In our relationship with children and young people,
we are not dealing with mechanical devices that can be quickly repaired,
but with living beings who are impressionable, volatile, sensitive, afraid, affectionate;
and to deal with them we have to have great understanding,
the strength of patience and love.

Well said. Psychology, plays a vital role, specially when it comes to infants and kids... it poses its own challenge. One has to become a child to "talk" to a child and that's not very easy.

Many a times in our lives, while interacting with young ones, we assume the same amount of knowledge and push for things... Reality dictates otherwise. The fear in them of the unknown is great and as responsible parent figures, we have to be watchful not to touch upon such sensitive feelings. It's vital therfore to be compassionate, patient and caring towards them. This is really challenging in child rearing, since the imprint of our actions registers on the young one for the rest of his/er life.
