There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting.

Excellent. But can we call this a mistake? I mean what controls one not to follow one of these? Is there an answer? Then we can say whether its a misake/not !
Along the same lines, I think we could also say, nobody makes a mistake in pursuit of truth. Truth takes us through and it takes us to 'truth'. Maybe my understanding is shallow. Could Buddha be meaning something here that we both are missing?

Sorry to deviate a little bit, but this has always inspired me and has been the "seed" of my love towards spirituality:
What controls one's actions? If its "karma" according to Gita, then why "karma" in the first place... where is the answer opening up or the starting point.
But as my experiences rooted, I personally feel there is no answer becoz the question itself though sounding logical, becomes absurd at the dawn of realization that "God simply Is" and so is "existence". "It Simply Is That Way..." - the word "why" has no relevance, becoz it simply doesn't have a reason (and everything doesn't need to have a reason thats the beauty of life).
I recall a discussion I had on "Time" as to when was it invented/created and the answer is endless, coz "Time Simply Is"; man has given form to it.. else it has no beginning and no end. "Why" word ceases to have meaning once realied what Time is.. thus the principle of "karma" follows with No Whys...
I think its too much to deviate, but was just carried away to share my inner thoughts...
