Zen says the ordinary mind is the enlightened mind.
You don't go anywhere;
the ordinary world is paradise.
Here and now, everything is there!
you need not go anywhere.

you need not go anywhere.

I want to ponder over one thing. When someone is engrossed in music, or say is lost in writing a poetry, can we say he/she is living here and now? My thinking is - its absolutely not the state of "Here And Now". Its close, but it still is NOT. And the reason is - MIND and consiousness is dropped when you are Here And Now. "You Simply Are". And this is a state that can be achieved either through meditation or witnessing ones' actions and thoughts closely. Engrossed in music or poerty is only an abstractness of mind - mind is consistent without any fluctuations in the state, but it still is a state of consciousness, an elevated state of consciousness. Its only a sample of how beautiful Here And Now can be. Any counter thoughts?

Poetry is more of a fusion between Heart and Mind. So are any other expressions of art such as painting, music, dance... Osho taught me this. Heart gives the feelings to the art while the mind gives it the logic (how to paint, grammer for poetry, notes for music...) A clear example is when someone is in love. They live in their heart center. For some expressions of art come very naturally in this phase.
When we live in our Heart center, we don't live in the 'here and now'. We live in an imaginary world, far away from here. It's purely virtual imagery of the mind.
Apart from meditation, witnessing is a powerful tool for living in the 'here and now'. A simple exercise for it: whenever thoughts come across in your mind, tell yourself 'this is a thought, not reality'. This is called the way of negation. By denying thoughts, reality dawns. That is 'here and now'.
Its been good exchange of thoughts here.
