Every form of addiction is bad,
no matter whether the narcotic be
alcohol or morphine or idealism.

In my view bad does not mean bad impact of any doing (in this context) but, impact of not doing it at the time you wanted to.
Addiction rids one of the spontaneity. The child-like spontaneity that's bestowed on us from birth. Addiction of any kind is life-negative. When one gets used to something over a period of time, then its difficult to separate the person from the addiction. He becomes averse to change, hence growing stops. Be it good addictions or bad ones, if you realize you are being consumed into the act, it's then time to act on it. Step outside and see it for yourself and pull yourself up. If for instance you think meditation is a good addiction, try not doing it and see for yourself where it leads you or try a different style so there is growth. The harmful ones, better to stay out of it, but if you are into it, then pull yourself up.
